What starts out as an exotic summer vacation soon turns deadly for a group of unsuspecting airline passengers as an outbreak of vicious ants take over their flight.
Dr. Carrie Ross (Jessalyn Gilsig – ‘Nip/Tuck,’ ‘Heroes’) and her daughter Jenna are returning home from a tropical rainforest retreat. Carrie thought that this would be a good way to share an adventure and catch up with her moody sixteen year-old. The vacationers begin to assemble for the flight home. Meanwhile, Donald, an ailing passenger, is wiping his perspiring, pasty face with a handkerchief. Once on the plane, Donald suddenly jerks and emits a blood–chilling cry and falls to the floor. Suddenly, thousands of ants come pouring out of his body, killing him.
Panic spreads as bystanders look on helplessly, scared and confused, as the ants retreat into the vents of the plane – for now. In the face of adversity, will Dr. Ross, an entomologist, and Ethan Hart, (Antonio Sabato Jr. – ‘Charmed,’ ‘Melrose Place’) an undercover air marshal, be able to save the lives of the stricken passengers without putting more lives at risk?
